The Beautiful Skin Diet

By Alya Alyssa Kattan

There are lots of creams and lotions which promise younger, clearer, and a more vibrant complexion.  These creams help on the surface but to improve the tone and texture of skin eating healthy is the best way to go.

For gorgeous skin, eat the following foods.

Beta Carotene—Eat fruits and vegetables that are deep orange in color like sweet potato, carrots, mango and apricots.  These foods are high in antioxidants which help prevent premature wrinkling.

Vitamin C—this powerful antioxidant is involved in the production of collagen which is why it is widely used in many expensive facial products.  If you are deficient in this vitamin, you can suffer from bruising, loss of skin elasticity, and poor healing of cuts and scrapes. Eat red peppers, oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, and broccoli.

Omega 3 Fats—Eat fatty fish like salmon and sardines, omega 3 fortified eggs, flaxseeds and walnuts.
