Rev your engine–eat for energy

Feeling fatigued lately? Want to have endless energy?  Try the following energy boosting foods!

Carbohydrates provide the fastest energy.  The next time you are hungry and need a quick pick me up, eat a piece of fruit or any of following instead of a sugary drink.

  • Vegetables
  • Whole-grain Cereals
  • 100% fruit juice
  • Fruits (fresh or dried)

If you want to keep your energy level up, add some protein and fats with the carbs.  This will also help you stay full longer.  Below are a few good choices.

  • Nuts
  • Whole-grain pasta
  • Turkey or peanut butter on whole-grain bread
