De-gassing Beverages

Are you a little too gassy at times?  If you recently have made some changes to your diet and are eating more high fiber foods, you might be suffering a little more than you want to from this annoying condition.  High fiber foods such as beans, whole grains, and broccoli are the biggest causes of gas.  They do this by causing bacteria in the colon to ferment undigested carbohydrates in the small intestine.

So what to do?  The solution is to start by cutting back on high fiber foods and slowly adding them back into the diet.

Whatever you do, please do not hold it.  I know that sometimes this might not be an option but holding it is very bad for you.  It causes cramping and pain because it stretches your colon and when you do let it out it is louder and smellier.

Gas No More
Stop gas in it’s tracks with these easy to make drinks.
• Drink a mixture of ½ teaspoon of ginger powder to 1 cup of warm water.  If you would rather use fresh ginger,  cut up a couple of thin slices and add to 1 cup of warm water.
• Add 1 cinnamon stick to 1 cup of boiling water. Remove the stick after two minutes and allow the water to cool down before drinking.

    Hi Alya! I agree with Ameenah. your blog is great and really really helpful! i recently became vegan and considering i eat loads of grains and fiber I’ve been gassy more than usual.. I’ll definitely try these drinks. Thanks a lot 🙂 ❤
