Slimmer Cake: save tons of calories and fat

By Alya Alyssa Kattan

Want to have cake?  Well don’t deprive yourself, go ahead and have a slice!

To cut down on calories and fat, substitute applesauce for your oil.  For example, if your recipe calls for 1/2 cup of oil use 1/2 cup applesauce instead.  You can use applesauce instead of oil when making bread, muffin, and cake.

½ c of vegetable oil has almost 1000 calories and 100 fat grams.  ½ c of sweetened applesauce has less than 100 calories and almost 0 fat grams.

WOW just look at all the calories and fat you will be saving!  How is the taste?  Well I have made cakes using both and honestly you can’t taste the difference.  If you like your cake more moist, add an additional 2 Tbps of applesauce.  So the next time you feel like having something sweet but you don’t want it to go straight to your thighs and butt use applesauce.
