Jillian Michaels: Killer Buns & Thighs

By Alya Alyssa Kattan

I absolutely loveeeee this woman!  I know many of you admire her as well and for good reason: she’s so motivational; she’s helped so many lose lots of weight; she’s insanely fit; etc…!  My all time favorite Jillian quote: “Unless You Puke, Faint or Die, Keep Going!”  What is there not to love?  TV’s toughest trainer topped the scale at 175lbs when she was just 12 years old.  WOW that’s heavy but look at her now she looks INSANE!

If you hate your saddle bags, saggy knees, flabby thighs and want to firm up, try her newest workout DVD –Jillian Michaels: Killer Buns & Thighs.  It promises to get you fitting in your skinny jeans and short shorts in no time by delivering three fat-blasting booty sculpting workouts which includes exercises such as squats, hydrants and side lunges.  These 30-minute workouts range in difficulty level in order to provide something for everyone from beginners to the most advanced athletes.  She also includes a cardio workout to help blast off the fat even quicker where she has you doing high-impact moves like star jumps, scissor lunges and power jacks. The workouts are short; you get 8 to 10 different exercises in each circuit.  Equipment needed 5 to 10 lb. weights.

My opinion: I tried the short clip below and wholly smokes I felt it within a few minutes into the workout.  I have done these exercises before but what I really like about this DVD is that Jillian puts her own spin on the exercises.  She makes you lift higher, squeeze harder, twist more, etc..  That is what makes them that much more effective.  Give the clip a try and see what you think.  The DVD is not sold in stores yet but you can pre-order a copy from or  For now I give it a thumbs up but will have to try it out in its full entirety to give it a fair assessment.  I def. will be purchasing and will do a follow up post on if it lived up to its promises.
