I know I have been posting a lot on caffeine lately but it’s because I have been reading quite a bit on it and have found a lot of beneficial information concerning its correlation with weight loss. I promise this will be the last post I do on it for a while!

Caffeine, a fat burner?  How?  It increases the rate of fatty acid metabolism and decreases the rate of carbohydrate metabolism during aerobic exercise.  So when taken before aerobic exercise, it can increase fat-burning and help you exercise longer delaying the onset of fatigue.  Great News, isn’t it?  However, caffeine depletes calcium from your body so high intakes should be avoided and extra calcium intake is needed to avoid risk of calcium depletion.

Remember not to drink more than 500 mg of caffeine per day, that’s about five 8-oz. cups of coffee, to avoid anxiety, insomnia, irritability, restlessness, upset stomach, rapid heartbeat and muscle tremors.
